Mobile Communications - Vina-Mobi US$25 million Handset Plant Kicks Off Construction

Vina-Mobi's investment of US$25 million to build a factory to make value-line mobile phones has begun in Da Nang, Vietnam. These value-line handsets are targeted for sale in neighboring countries.

 

Zentek Technology, a Japanese software company, will provide technological support, while Singaporean firm iWoW will provide supply industrial design. Vina-Mobi's plant is set to go online near the end of 2004, and plans to ship over one million Vina-Mobi brand handsets annually by the third year of operations.
